MILAN TRIUMPH IN THE DERBY DELLA MADONNINA

Thanks to a late winner from Matteo Gabbia, Milan triumphs 2-1 over Inter in the Derby della Madonnina.

Christian Pulisic put Milan ahead after just eleven minutes, charging past several Inter players and then shooting the ball past Yann Sommer into the goal.

After trailing 1-0, Inter came back into the game and equalised just before the half hour mark. Lautaro Martinez played a beautiful ball into the path of Federico Dimarco, who shot the ball flat and hard past Mike Maignan into the corner to equalise.

Milan had a number of great chances to take the lead in the second half, with Rafael Leao, who fired a powerful shot straight at Sommer, and Tammy Abraham, whose shot from close range went wide of the post.

After one missed chance after another, it looked like it was not going to be the Rossoneri's day until a free kick from Tijjani Reijnders found Matteo Gabbia, a Milan fan since childhood, who jumped highest and headed the ball powerfully past Yann Sommer and into the net, giving Milan all three points.
