Dolphins sign QB Tim Boyle to the active roster

With Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovaila on the injured list following his recent concussion, the Dolphins have added their second new quarterback to the 53-man roster.

Just days after signing Tyler Huntley from Baltimore's practice squad, the Dolphins promoted Tim Boyle from their own practice squad.

This means that the Dolphins have three quarterbacks on the active roster. According to the rules, one of them can play as a third emergency quarterback for Sunday's game in Seattle.

The only question at this point is whether Huntley or Boyle will serve as the backup, with the other being the third quarterback. Skylar Thompson is the starter during Tua's absence.

To make room for Boyle, the Dolphins placed receiver Grant DuBose on the injured list and promoted receivers Dee Eskridge and Erik Ezukanma from the practice squad.
