Alcohol and speed were suspected factors in accident that injured two teenagers near Coolidge

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – Two teenagers were thrown from their vehicle in a crash on SR 287 near Coolidge Saturday morning.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., the Pinal County Vehicular Crimes Task Force and Coolidge Police began investigating a car crash on SR 287 near Nafziger Road.

Witnesses told officers that the vehicle was being driven recklessly before the driver lost control and rolled over several times. According to PCSO, both the 17-year-old driver and 15-year-old passenger were ejected from the vehicle.

The boy suffered serious injuries, the girl's life is in critical condition. Both were flown to hospital by helicopter.

According to police, the causes of the accident were speed and impairment.

No further details about the incident have been released.
