Police arrest man after shooting

Lawrence police arrested a man last night after he allegedly shot at a motorist and attacked a woman and child near Morningside and Brush Creek. The woman and her five-year-old child were in the vehicle at the time. Police say the woman managed to deflect the gun, preventing a shot from hitting the man's head, but she was injured in the incident. The suspect is charged with attempted premeditated murder, aggravated assault and aggravated child endangerment. The investigation is ongoing. The adult victims suffered visible facial injuries, while the child was unharmed.

Lawrence police arrested a man late last night after he allegedly shot at a motorist and attacked a woman and child near Morningside and Brush Creek.

The woman and her 5-year-old child were in the vehicle at the time.

According to police, the woman managed to deflect the gun and prevent the man from being shot in the head, but she was still injured in the incident.

The suspect is accused of attempted premeditated murder, grievous bodily harm and serious child endangerment.

The investigation is ongoing.

The adult victims suffered visible facial injuries, while the child remained unharmed.
