An Albuquerque Police spokesperson said one person died in a multi-car crash Sunday night at a busy downtown intersection. The crash, which closed 2nd Street NW and Lomas Boulevard, is under investigation. Drivers should avoid the area until the scene is cleared. The Albuquerque Fire Department arrived at the scene around 7:30 p.m. The crash involved five vehicles, and nine units were dispatched to treat, triage and transport the injured. One person had to be extricated from a vehicle, AFR said in a news release. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and the name of the person who died has not been released.
