Oklahoma couple arrested after two boys found covered in feces

Police say an Oklahoma couple was arrested this month after their two young boys were found covered in feces in a home so horrific that officers had to wear hazmat suits to enter the house.

Three children under the age of five were rescued from the rebellious home on September 12, and 24-year-old Dakota Dodd and 22-year-old Aubrianna Freeman were taken into custody on child neglect charges.

Oklahoma City police said officers went to the home after a concerned neighbor called in a tip. Dodd led police to a bedroom, where the boys, ages 3 and 4, were reportedly found with dried feces on them.

“Feces on the walls, feces on the children. It was an absolutely disgusting sight,” Oklahoma City Police Master Sgt. Gary Knight told KOCO.

“When they entered the house, they were almost overwhelmed by the smell of feces and urine inside the building, according to officials.”

The young victims had “feces encrusted on their fingernail beds, palms, feet, legs and faces,” according to a police report obtained by Law and Crime.

The report detailed horrific conditions throughout the home, including “piles of what appeared to be human feces” on the second floor and a bedroom floor “covered with multiple piles of smeared and flattened human feces,” according to the outlet.

Because the conditions were so disgusting, investigators later wore protective suits while examining the scene, KOCO reported.

Dodd, who is reportedly the boys' stepfather, allegedly admitted to police that he locked the children in the dirty room for more than 12 hours a day so their mother, Freeman, could sleep and to “protect the children because of the neighborhood,” News 9 reported, citing the police report.

An 11-month-old girl, Dodd's biological daughter, was also removed from the home, the station reported.

The neighbor who reported the alleged neglect told News 9 she saw the boys naked in the window.

“They looked at me as if to say, 'Help me,'” said Barbara North.

“They had poop all over their faces, hands and mouths,” North added.

As the newspaper Law and Crime reported, Dodd and Freeman were charged with five counts of child neglect.
