Man and horse killed in car crash on I-15 in Norco

NORCO, CA — A person and a horse were killed in a car crash on Interstate 15 in Norco Sunday morning, authorities said.

Paramedics also took one person to the hospital with minor injuries, the Riverside County Fire Department reported.

The accident occurred at about 1:57 a.m. on the northbound route at 6th Street, the California Highway Patrol said.

Witnesses reported seeing several horses running in the north and southbound lanes, including one that may have been hit by a motorist.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert to close all lanes of northbound Interstate 15 south of the Limonite Avenue exit ramp. The Fast Track lanes remained open.
The road was cleared at 5:09 a.m.
