La Vernia man arrested for alleged threats

(La Vernia) — A La Vernia man is behind bars for allegedly threatening to commit an act of violence in neighboring Wilson County. The threats were made during calls to two different hotlines in Comal County on Sept. 8. The calls were believed to have been made by a male caller from a Wilson County home. When the Wilson County Sheriff's Office investigated those reports, it identified the caller as Jonni Carville of the 100 block of Circle Six Drive in La Vernia.

When Carville arrived home, officials say he was uncooperative and “made it clear that he had contempt for law enforcement” and “only wanted to speak to officers on scene through a window.” Authorities say other family members in the home made the situation worse and officers were unable to take further action at the time.

Further investigation revealed that Carville had previously had contact with La Vernia police at the police station. The next day, it was also reported that he had been acting “hostile” and “uncooperative” at La Vernia Middle School.

The negative behavior was allegedly directed directly at the school official and school administration.

It was also reported that Carville owned multiple firearms and had allegedly posted that he did not like police or school officials. Upon his arrest, authorities found nearly 100 firearms and “tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition” in his home. Carville was charged with making terroristic threats. He remains in the Wilson County Jail, unable to pay a $150,000 bail.
