A police cordon was set up on Saturday evening and will remain in place on Monday morning.

An officer stands at the police cordon that blocks the entrance to an apartment block on the street.

A woman who has been living on the streets for six years described the incident as “not very nice”.

She added: “I have never seen anything like this happen here before.

“It's quite disturbing when you hear that something like this happens. It's so sad when someone loses their life like this.”

She said the police do take to the streets, “but not more often than in other areas.”

Detective Inspector David McCormack said: “We understand there is concern in the community. However, we do not believe there is any danger to the general public.”

“We are asking witnesses associated with the address to come forward, as well as anyone who has information or notices anything suspicious.

“We thank the public for their patience while the police cordon remains in place and the investigation continues.

“We urge anyone with information or who knows of anything suspicious to contact the police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Norfolk Police quoting reference 534 of 21 September 2024.
