Jayam Ravi wants custody of 2 sons: Will fight in court for 10 or 20 years

Tamil actor Jayam Ravi and his estranged wife are locked in a messy divorce. In a recent interview, the Ponniyin Selvan actor said that he is fighting for the custody of his two sons Aarav and Ayaan in the family court. On September 9, he announced the divorce from Aarti, after which she received a scathing response. She claimed that she was completely blindsided by the announcement and that Ravi's decision was one-sided.

In conversation with Hindustan NewspaperRavi made serious allegations against Aarti and said he would fight in court for custody of two sons. “Yes, I want custody of my children – Aarav and Ayaan. I am ready to fight this divorce in court for 10 or 20 years or as long as it takes. My future is my children; they are my happiness,” he said.

He also spoke about his future plans with his sons. Ravi said he wants to produce a film with his eldest son Aarav and introduce him to cinema. “It is my dream. When I acted with him in Tik Tik Tik six years ago, I said on stage at the launch event that it was the happiest day of my life. I am waiting for that day again,” he said.

Ravi also accused Aarti of never reaching out to him for reconciliation. He said that she did not respond to the two legal notices that were sent to her. He further stated, “Does this behavior look like she wants to reconcile with me? Will there be any news of a 'friend' if the intention was to reconcile?”

Shortly after Ravi and Aarti's statements, rumors started circulating on social media that the actor was having an affair with singer and psychologist Kenishaa Francis.

Ravi addressed the media after the audio release of 'Brother' in Chennai and dismissed the rumours of a link-up with Kenishaa.

He said, “Live and let live. Don't drag anyone into this. People say random things. Don't get involved in such things. Let private life be private. Kenishaa is a person who has sung in 600 stage shows. She has made a name for herself through hard work in life. She is a healer who has saved many lives. She is a trained psychologist. Please don't drag her into this.”

Ravi added, “Kenishaa and I plan to open a healing center in the future. That is our goal. We want to help many people. Please don't spoil it. No one can spoil it either. Don't involve anyone unnecessarily.”

Jayam Ravi and Aarti’s first divorce hearing in the family court will take place in October.
