Port St. Lucie police believed they were investigating a fatal motorcycle crash. Now they're calling it a homicide. Investigators said they received the 911 call around 1 a.m. Sunday morning about a crash at the intersection of Southwest California Boulevard and Southwest Greenan Lane. Police have not released his name but said he is 53 years old. Niemczyk said they believe his death was related to an altercation he had with some people at a bar earlier in the evening. “We believe the community is completely safe,” Niemczyk said. “This was a targeted incident where the victim interacted with our suspects.” Police have several people in custody but have not made any arrests yet. Throughout the day, neighbors laid flowers at the scene to honor the victim. The man was taken to hospital where he died.
