High probability of tropical formations in the Caribbean next week

The same location in the northwestern Caribbean that we have been monitoring now has a HIGH chance of tropical rain developing within the next seven days.

A tropical depression is likely to form sometime early next week.

The NHC noted in its latest forecast: “An extensive low pressure system is expected to develop over the northwestern Caribbean and adjacent parts of Central America over the next few days. Thereafter, this system is expected to gradually develop and a tropical depression is expected to form by the end of next week as the system slowly moves northward over the northwestern Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico. Regardless of development, this system is expected to produce heavy rains over parts of Central America over the next few days.”

Until this is officially classified as a tropical system, we cannot give any specifics on what this system will do, where it will go, or what impact it may have on us. There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding this forecast. Over the next few days, these details should become clearer.

Now is the time to know and review your hurricane plans and make sure you are prepared for any scenario.
