Second incident of moose poaching on the West Coast within two weeks

Officers responded to a complaint from the public about a dead bull moose approximately four miles from the Black Duck Siding Resource Road.

There has been another incident of moose poaching on the West Coast. Officers responded to a complaint from the public about a dead bull moose about four miles away on the Black Duck Siding Resource Road. The moose had been shot and abandoned and is believed to have been killed between September 14 and 16. Last week, a moose was poached in the St. Davids area. The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture's Resource Enforcement Division is asking anyone with additional information about this incident or who has observed suspicious activity in the area to contact the Stephenville Detachment at 709-643-3143.
