After an accident, five people have to be hospitalized and one person is given cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Omaha police are investigating a crash that left five people hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews arrived at the scene near 37th and W Streets shortly before 3:15 a.m. Monday. Sergeant Jesse Godden said they immediately requested additional ambulances due to the large number of casualties. Emergency crews performed CPR on one of the victims while transporting him to the hospital. According to Sergeant Godden, the driver was behaving recklessly shortly before the crash. “Witnesses stated the vehicle was speeding through the neighborhood. It was traveling at an estimated speed of 100 mph and struck the parked motor vehicle,” Sergeant Godden said. Omaha police investigators said the silver car involved was stolen. They believe all five people who were in the vehicle at the time were minors. Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash, but the investigation is ongoing. Emergency crews arrived at the scene near the corner of 37th and W Streets shortly before 3:15 a.m. Monday. Sergeant Jesse Godden said they immediately requested additional ambulances because of the large number of casualties.

First responders performed CPR on one of the victims while transporting him to the hospital.

According to Sergeant Godden, the driver acted recklessly immediately before the accident.

“Witnesses stated that the vehicle was speeding through the neighborhood, estimating it to be traveling at 100 miles per hour and crashed into the parked motor vehicle,” said Sergeant Godden.

Omaha police investigators said the silver car was stolen and they believe all five people who were in the vehicle at the time were minors.

Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the accident, but investigations are ongoing.
