Bengaluru police investigate suspect in murder of woman whose dismembered body was found in refrigerator

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda said on Monday that they have identified the suspect in the Murder of a 29-year-old woman whose dismembered body parts were recovered from a refrigerator in her apartment.

Mahalakshmi's maggot-infested body was chopped into over 30 pieces and recovered from her residence in Vyalikaval in the city.

“As far as the Vyalikaval (Mahalakshmi murder) case is concerned, we are investigating it from all angles. The main suspect, who is likely to have committed this gruesome crime, has been identified. We just need to catch him. Once the person is caught and the interrogation is completed, we can disclose more details,” Dayananda told the media here.

Speaking to reporters, Karnaraka Home Minister G Parameshwara said, “Some information has already been collected which I cannot disclose now, but we will catch those involved soon.”

“They say it is an individual, but until we have more information, we cannot really confirm it. He is from West Bengal, they say. We will arrest the suspects as soon as possible.”
