Man found shot on volleyball court near University of Arizona dormitory

TUCSON, AZ (AZFamily) – Authorities are searching for a suspect in the shooting death of a man on the University of Arizona campus late Sunday night.

According to authorities, University of Arizona police were notified by Tucson police around 11 p.m. of a shooting near the Arizona-Sonora Hall dormitory near the corner of Park Avenue and Fourth Street.

When officers arrived at the scene minutes later, they found a college student shot to death on the volleyball courts, just east of the dorms. Authorities say the victim was a student at Pima Community College.

No one else was injured in the shooting. Police are conducting an intensive search of the campus for a possible suspect.

Crews from Arizona's Family sister station, KOLD News 13, observed several university police vehicles blocking the area and cordoning off the volleyball courts.
