Police investigate shooting near University of Arizona campus, suspect at large

TUCSON, Arizona (13 News) – University of Arizona Police are investigating a shooting after a man was found shot to death near the University of Arizona campus late Sunday night.

The UAPD says it was notified by the Tucson Police Department at 10:59 p.m. of a shooting near the Arizona Sonora Hall near Park Avenue and Fourth Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a college-aged man shot to death on the volleyball court east of Arizona Sonora Hall.

According to UAPD, the victim is a student at Pima Community College.

Authorities said no one else was injured in the shooting.

The UAPD says police are searching for the suspect, described as a heavyset man with curly hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray shorts and carrying a handgun.
