Man arrested in barricaded fight in Lexington

LEXINGTON CO., SC (WOLO) – Lexington Police arrested a man in a barricading dispute on Sunday.

According to Police Chief Terrence Green, officers responded to a 911 call regarding the kidnapping of a woman in the 100 block of Palm Court.

Police later learned that Keith Dwayne Miles, 57, of Lexington, had held her against her will for several hours and was attacked, but managed to escape.

According to officers, they attempted to contact Miles around 7 p.m., but he did not cooperate.

According to officials, this prompted nearby residents to seek shelter.

After negotiations failed, the emergency team was able to arrest Miles without incident, police said.

He was then taken to Lexington Medical Center for treatment and examination.

Police have charged him with grievous bodily harm and kidnapping.

After his release from the hospital, he will be taken to the Lexington County Detention Center to await his bail hearing in the morning.
