Murder charge after woman found dead in Milford home – State’s first update

Milford police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a 50-year-old woman.

Officials said that at approximately 12:55 p.m. on Sunday, a Milford Police Department patrol unit was dispatched to N. Church St in the area of ​​SW Front St., Milford, Sussex County, in search of an 18-year-old male offender who was exhibiting mental health issues.

The male suspect told officers he had killed someone, officials said Monday. Further investigation led officers to rush to a residence in the 400 block of Lakeview Avenue in Milford, where they found a dead 50-year-old woman.

Investigators took into custody an 18-year-old man named Edouard Risch Oldens of Milford, DE. Risch Oldens was charged with premeditated murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Risch Oldens was arraigned before Justice of the Peace 3 where bail was set at only $680,000.

Risch Oldens was turned over to the Delaware Department of Corrections. Risch Oldens is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas at a later date.
