Olivia Munn and John Mulaney announce their new baby via surrogate

Congratulations are in order: There's another Munn-Mulaney baby in town! Months after detailing her “horrific” breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent double mastectomy, Olivia Munn announced on Sunday that she and husband John Mulaney have welcomed their second child, Méi June Mulaney. Méi, the little sister of the couple's 2-year-old son Malcolm Hiệp, was born via surrogate on Sept. 14. In a post on Instagram, Munn explained that she experienced “so many deep emotions” when she learned she “wouldn't be able to carry my own daughter” but found peace with her surrogate, who she describes as a “true angel.”

“When I first met our surrogate, we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding,” Munn wrote alongside photos of the growing family of four. “Words cannot express my gratitude for her protecting our baby for nine months and making our dreams come true.”

“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon, for making the journey to us. My heart exploded,” she added. “Méi (pronounced may) means plum 梅💜 in Chinese.”

Mulaney chose a different tone to introduce his daughter, writing, “Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon 🐉. We stole so much stuff from the hospital… I love my little girl so much.” Alongside photos of him and his wife holding their newborn, he also included a video of baby Méi spitting up on his shoulder as he burps her.

In April, Munn announced People that her breast cancer diagnosis in 2023 had led to four surgeries, including a bilateral mastectomy, lymph node dissection, reconstructive surgery and nipple retardation. A month later, the actress told fashion She had undergone a fifth surgery, a hysterectomy, and had frozen her eggs after her initial diagnosis in hopes of expanding her family. When I have hot flashes, I'm still his mom. When I lose my hair, I'm still his mom. That's really the most important thing to me.
