Perry Farrell takes action after fight with Dave Navarro on Jane's Addiction show, his wife says

Perry Farrell's wife, Etty Lau Farrell, said her husband was seeking medical attention after an argument with Dave Navarro onstage at a Jane's Addiction concert.

Etty Lau Farrell posted a message on Instagram on Saturday thanking her fans for their “love, kindness, compassion and support.” The argument, which went viral on social media, occurred during a show in Boston on Sept. 13, leading to the band canceling their reunion tour.

In the post, Etty Lau Farrell described her husband as “the gentlest of souls” and said they were “as amazed” by his “physical outburst” as their fans, adding that he must have been “pushed to his absolute limits.”

“For this reason we apologize,” wrote Etty Lau Farrell.

“We are taking some time for ourselves to reflect and heal. Perry already has appointments with an ENT doctor and a neurologist. If you know and love Perry well, you know I don't have to deal with the other false narratives,” Etty Lau Farrell wrote. “With all of your love, kindness, compassion and support, Perry will pull through. He will recover. He will be happy again. He will be able to share his music, his vision and his artistry again – unbridled.”

Etty Lau Farrell added that when her husband is ready, he will “take another giant leap over obstacles to make us laugh and think, and together, change the world.”

“Then we can be happy together. And you will know that we couldn't have done it without you,” she wrote.

In an earlier Instagram post on September 14, Etty Lau Farrell wrote that her husband was suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat and was becoming increasingly frustrated with the volume settings on stage, which made him feel like he was being drowned out by the rest of the band.

In a statement provided to The National Desk earlier this month, the singer apologized for his behavior during the show.

“This weekend was incredibly difficult and after having the time and space to reflect, it's only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, my fans, family and friends for my behavior during Friday's show,” he previously said. “Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior and I take full responsibility for how I handled the situation.”

A video of the incident was captured at the band's performance at Leader Bank Pavilion and quickly spread on social media.

Fans said it was confusing to watch.

“The crowd was confused,” someone posted on X, also noting that while half the audience seemed upset that the show had ended so early, the rest were “excited” because they “may have seen the last Janes A show ever.”

In the footage, Navarro can be seen extending his right arm to keep Farrell at a distance before the band's bassist Eric Avery and several crew members escort Farrell off the stage. The show ended shortly afterward and the band later apologized.

Shortly afterwards they announced the cancellation of the rest of the tour.

“The band has made the difficult decision to take a break as a group. For this reason, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour,” the band said in a statement posted on Instagram.
