Pima Community College student shot on University of Arkansas campus

The UAPD has released additional information regarding the overnight shooting at the volleyball courts near the Arizona Sonora Residence Hall.

Officers arrived at the scene around 11 p.m. Sunday night and found a college-aged man lying next to a car. Officers said the suspect shot him after an altercation with several people. Witnesses escorted the victim to a car to take him to a hospital, but waited in the parking lot for emergency responders. When officers and medical personnel arrived, they attempted life-saving measures, but the victim ultimately died.

The suspect has not yet been located. He is described as a 6' tall man between 19 and 25 years old. He has dark skin and is described as Middle Eastern or Hispanic. He has collar-length curly hair and facial hair. He is wearing a white short-sleeved t-shirt and tan shorts.

The UAPD will conduct additional patrols today to search for the shooter.

University of Arizona police said a Pima Community College student was shot outside Arizona Sonora Hall late Sunday night. Officers found him near the volleyball courts, right next to the dorms.

According to police, the shooter is a powerfully built man with curly hair who was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray shorts and carrying a pistol.

Shortly after the shooting, the university sent out a warning to students asking them to avoid the area. The area has since been cleared, but the suspect is still at large.
