Teenager accused of murder after three shootings in downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Phoenix police said a teenager was jailed on murder and aggravated assault charges following three shootings over the weekend.

Homicide investigators are currently at the original crime scene trying to determine what led to the shooting.(Arizona Family)

According to authorities, the juvenile suspect, whose exact age is unknown, was arrested Sunday and booked into the Maricopa County Juvenile Detention Center on multiple charges.

It is unclear whether the teenager could later be charged as an adult, but his identity is not being released at this time.

The shooting occurred around midnight Saturday morning near 13th and Van Buren Streets, but officers were stopped about three miles away.

Police later learned that two boys and a girl had been shot. One of the boys later died of his injuries. His name has not yet been released.

The other two teenagers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
