Shooting in Greenpoint leaves 6 injured

According to the NYPD, six people were injured, one seriously, in a shooting in Greenpoint.

Police are still investigating what happened early on the morning of Sept. 21. Officers responded to a 911 call at about 2 a.m. from Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where three of the victims, all 18-year-old males, were receiving medical treatment after being brought there themselves. One suffered a gunshot wound to the left ankle, another a gunshot wound to the face and a third had chest wounds.

A 33-year-old man was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull with a gunshot wound to his right ankle. Two 20-year-olds were taken to Jamaica Hospital in Queens, one with a gunshot wound to his back and the other with a wound to his leg.

The 18-year-old with chest injuries is in critical but stable condition; the condition of the other victims is stable.

Police have not yet been able to determine the circumstances of the shooting, which took place at the intersection of Cherry Street and Stewart Avenue next to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. No arrests have been made so far.
