No tickets issued after motorcycle accident in southeast Lincoln

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – No tickets were issued after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in southeast Lincoln on Saturday.

According to Lincoln Police, the accident occurred shortly after noon near 33rd Street and Nebraska Parkway.

According to LPD, a white Dodge pickup truck driven by a 35-year-old Omaha man was traveling eastbound on the Pioneers Boulevard access road between Nebraska Parkway and 33rd Street. According to the accident report, he turned left in front of a motorcyclist traveling westbound and the motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the pickup truck.

According to LPD, the 56-year-old motorcyclist from Lincoln was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

According to LPD, the man's injuries were initially considered life-threatening, but he is expected to survive.

The driver of the van was uninjured.

The police do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
