Hearing for defendant convicted of attempted murder postponed

A man appeared virtually in Baltimore District Court for a post-sentencing hearing on September 23, but his attorney was not present.

Lance Hickman, 30, was found guilty of attempted first- and second-degree intentional murder and attempted assault, use of a firearm in a serious violent crime, conspiracy to commit first-degree intentional murder, reckless endangerment, conspiracy to commit second-degree intentional murder, conspiracy to use a firearm in a serious violent crime, possession of a weapon with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, carrying a loaded handgun on person and in a vehicle, illegal possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm in Baltimore City on May 8, 2023.

Hickman appeared before Judge Troy K. Hill via Zoom on Monday, but defense attorney Roland Brown informed the court via email that he could not attend the hearing.

The Legal Advisory Committee will meet again on 24 September.

Hickman was sentenced to life in prison plus 25 years for shooting the victim 15 times.
