Attack on East Village subway station: Suspect arrested for stabbing man in the back in Manhattan, NYC

EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) — Police have arrested and charged a man who allegedly stabbed another man in the back in a Manhattan subway station last week.

Raymond Kwok, 27, was arrested Monday on charges of first- and second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The attack occurred around 8:45 p.m. Friday at the L subway station on the corner of East 14th Street and First Avenue.

According to the NYPD, a 29-year-old man was running down the station's stairs when he collided with the suspect. Officers say the two got into an argument before the suspect stabbed the man in the back with a knife and fled the scene.

First responders took the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
