Reports on the Colorado Avalanche: Logan O'Connor jailed for six years

Colorado Avalanche forward Logan O'Connor has signed a new six-year contract. His new deal will keep him in the Mile High City through the end of the 2030-31 season, when he will be 34 years old.

The former DU Pioneer will continue to play for his youth team for the foreseeable future. LOC's current contract would have expired at the end of this season, making him a free agent in the 2025-26 season. His signing is the first major free agent signing of next year, as the Avs are still working on a deal for Mikko Rantanen.

O'Connor only played in 57 games last year, totaling 13 goals and 12 assists. He missed the rest of the season and the playoffs due to hip surgery. He is a player known for his speed and tenacity, something Jared Bednar and his fans have come to appreciate. After recovering from surgery, getting married and getting ready for the start of the regular season, it has been a memorable offseason for LOC.

The American forward's contract is for six years and is worth $2.5 million per year. It is very similar to Miles Wood's current deal, which is a longer-term deal with less money. Given the connection and chemistry between the two on and off the ice, one has to wonder if Wood was a deciding factor in LOC's new contract.

Nonetheless, the mayor of Denver will stay! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
