Snoop Dogg says he and Michael Bublé are ‘brothers from another mother’ (exclusive)

Snoop Dogg has found a friend in Michael Bublé.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the rapper talked about his experiences as a first-time coach at The voice so far – and the friendships he has made.

“It's like a lost family reunion. It feels like we've been together our whole lives and we just got back together, and the camaraderie and the chemistry on set, it's magical,” Snoop, 52, tells PEOPLE exclusively about his coaches Bublé, Gwen Stefani and Reba McEntire.

“I think when people see this show, they will be energized and feel The voice what it used to be like, what it used to feel like,” he adds. “It was exciting not only for the artists but for the coaches because it's important to us, so important that we're showing it to you on the screen. So hopefully everyone will tune in and see what we're talking about.”

The “Drop It Like It's Hot” rapper further revealed that, to his surprise, he became particularly close to 49-year-old Bublé.

“Who would have thought? But I'm known for collaborating with people you wouldn't expect me to work with, and it just feels like Bublé and I are lost brothers,” he says.

Snoop adds that they are “like brothers from a different mother. We love the same things, we agree to disagree, and it's just wonderful to have found someone like him so far in my career who has the same views on life and who I can bond with on screen and in personal life.”

For Snoop, joining The voice The coaching position was always on his wish list – it was just a matter of waiting for the right time.

“It just felt like the timing was right because I wanted to mentor and coach and help young artists,” he says. “And then NBCUniversal, this family just feels so good to me and the things we do together feel like a holy marriage. So it was the perfect time for something like this to happen.”

At the beginning of the month, the coaches of season 26 met for a roundtable discussion and Snoop asked each of them about their dream collaboration. Bublé was first to go – and admitted that the rapper didn't “believe” his answer.

“I love you so much, I'm not kidding. My family loves you. I was so scared you weren't going to be who you are. I was so excited to do this with you and people are like, 'No, man. He's got a great reputation,'” he said, appearing to get emotional.

The Canadian pop singer added that he was “so nervous” to meet the “Young, Wild & Free” rapper, but that he turned out to be “great.”

“That was huge for me because honestly I was really excited,” Bublé continued. “I was so excited to meet you, and you are better than I ever thought you would be.”

The voice returns to NBC on Monday, September 23 at 8 p.m. ET.
