MANILA, Philippines – Filipino-American singer Olivia Rodrigo made history on the Philippine concert scene: Nearly 800,000 people waited for tickets for her concert in October.

Live Nation Philippines reported exclusively Philstar.com that when ticket sales began, there were 745,000 fans on the waiting list.

The concert promoter spoke of their record high.

Olivia also made headlines online for not allowing black marketeers to resell her tickets for the Philippine “Presyong Kababayan” concert.

Some black marketeers tried to resell their concert tickets online for PHP 1,500 to PHP 10,000 each.

Each concert ticket is now personalized and printed with the buyer's name. In addition, a valid ID must be presented along with the ticket, making it more difficult for black marketeers to resell their tickets online.

The concert aims to raise money for Olivia's charity, Fund 4 Good, which aims to “build an equal and just future for all women and girls by directly supporting community-based nonprofits that advocate for girls' education, promote reproductive rights, and prevent gender-based violence.”
