Macklemore releases “Hind's Hall 2” and sings the “F–k America” chant at the show

Macklemore continued his support for the Palestinian people over the weekend when he released “Hind's Hall 2,” the follow-up to his May song of the same name, with proceeds going to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which provides aid to Palestinian refugees. He also shouted a provocative slogan against the United States during a performance Saturday in his hometown of Seattle at the Palestine Will Live Forever Festival.

The original song, which expresses solidarity with the Palestinian people, has been updated with new vocals from Gaza-born rapper MC Abdul, Palestinian-American singer Anees, author Amer Zahr, LA Palestinian Kids Choir, Tiffany Wilson and Friends, and Lifted! Youth Gospel Choir. In the final verse, the rapper drops a scathing verse denouncing Israel's nearly year-long war in Gaza, sparked by the October 7 raid on Israel by Hamas militias that killed over 1,200 people and kidnapped over 250 men, women, and children.

“Long live the resistance, if there's something to resist/ Fed up of you motherfuckers murdering little children/ Was politically correct for a minute, I just wanted to be a bridge,” the “Thrift Shop” MC raps before attacking Democratic presidential candidate and current Vice President Kamala Harris, warning her she could lose Michigan's large Arab-American/Muslim electorate if she continues the administration's support for Israel.

“But there'll never be freedom from begging the Zionists/ The world is screaming 'Free Palestine'/ We see the manual, we know how you colonized… Hey Kamala, I don't know if you're listening/ But stop sending money and guns or you won't win in Michigan/ We're undecided and damn it, we won't change our position/ 'Cause the whole world has gone Palestinian,” he raps.

The song also features the anti-Semitic chant “From the river to the sea/ Palestine will be free,” a phrase that the American Jewish Committee said was a “battle cry for terrorist groups and their sympathizers.” [as well as] a frequent call to arms for pro-Palestinian activists, especially student activists on university campuses. It calls for the establishment of a State of Palestine from the Jordan to the Mediterranean and the annihilation of the State of Israel and its people.”

At the world premiere of “Hind's Hall 2” at the Palestine Will Live Forever Festival over the weekend at Seward Park Amphitheatre in his hometown, Macklemore took the stage with his message of solidarity with the Palestinian people and his disdain for current American policies supporting Israel's war against the militant group Hamas.

“Straight up, say it, I'm not going to stop you,” Macklemore, 41, says in a fan video from the show after the crowd chants unheard slogans at him. “I'm not going to stop you… yeah, screw America,” he adds to loud cheers from the audience, later adding, “It's a genocide and it's been since 1948,” in reference to the year the State of Israel was founded. The original “Hind's Hall” and its sequel were named in honor of a young girl named Hind Rajab who was killed in Gaza in a shooting that Palestinians blamed on Israeli forces.

At press time, a spokesman for Macklemore had not yet returned Billboardfor a comment on his statement at the show in Seattle.

Last month, the rapper canceled a performance in Dubai scheduled for October 4, citing the UAE's support for the RSF, one of the warring parties in the country's devastating civil war.
