Cool days ahead, next rain threatens at the end of the week

AGAIN OVERNIGHT INTO TOMORROW. BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE RADAR LOOP HERE, YOU'RE NOT SEEING ANY SIGNS OF GREEN. SO WE'RE REALLY NOT SEEING MUCH IN THE WAY OF DETECTIVE, MEASURABLE RAINFALL. AND THAT'S THE CASE AGAIN TOMORROW. OUR MOST WIDESPREAD RAINFALL IS COMING WITH THIS STORM SYSTEM THAT'S APPROACHING THE MIDWEST. AND THAT'S WHAT'S COMING TO US. BY WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, THIS INCOMING RAIN AREA IS ACTUALLY GOING TO BRING A DECENT HALF TO 1 INCH OF RAINFALL. WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THE 11 INCH TOTALS LIKE WE SAW ON CAPE COD OVER THE WEEKEND. So not as strong a storm but still a nice drenching rain especially for folks who haven't seen much rain this weekend and for Western Massachusetts. Temps are in the 10s in most places, with Boston at 14 right now. Still in the 15s in Marshfield but we'll all get rain overnight. We expect clouds to stick around but the wind that was pretty gusty this afternoon is slowly dying down so our temps may drop. A few more degrees especially northwest of Boston where we're down to 6 to 9 degrees. A LITTLE CHILLY TUESDAY MORNING. MID 100S IN MOST PLACES AS YOU MOVE ALONG THE COAST. MORE CLOUDS THAN SUN ON YOUR TUESDAY. I THINK WE COULD SEE SOME MORNING SUNSHINE BREAKING THROUGH, BUT IT WON'T LAST LONG. DON'T BE SURPRISED BY SOME NUTS. THAT'S SOMETHING WE'RE WATCHING, ESPECIALLY IN EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS. BUT OUR TIMELINE HERE DOESN'T SHOW MUCH. YOU'LL SEE SOME CLOUDS MOVE IN FROM MORNING TO AFTERNOON. RAIN. CHANCES ARE LOW. I THINK YOUR DAY WILL BE DRY FOR MOST OF OUR REGION. WE WILL START TO START WHILE WEDNESDAY AND CONTINUE TO HOLD ON, BUT THURSDAY MORNING IS EXPECTED TO BE MORE CONTINUOUS AND HEAVIER RAINFALL. THIS FRONT WILL BRING THE HEAVIEST RAIN TO OUR AREA. THURSDAY WILL BE OUR WETTEST DAY OF THE WEEK BY FAR. WE'RE SET TO IMPROVE ON FRIDAY. IT DOESN'T LOOK QUITE BONE DRY EITHER, BUT I EXPECT WE'LL SEE THINGS TRY TO DRY UP AS WE MOVE INTO THE HIGH PRESSURE AREA. THE SAME HIGH PRESSURE THAT'S GOING TO HELP BLOCK SOME OF THAT HEAVY RAINFALL ASSOCIATED WITH OUR NEXT POTENTIAL TROPICAL STORM. Right now, it's just Potential Tropical Cyclone 9 moving out of the Caribbean Sea between the Yucatan and Cuba. And then as it races into the eastern parts of the Gulf, where there's incredibly warm water, it's expected to strengthen into a Category Three hurricane before it makes landfall Thursday afternoon. So we're talking about some severe impacts in the Florida Panhandle through Thursday. And heavy rain of 4 to 8 inches extending from Florida to North Carolina. HERE IT'S THE OPPOSITE, BUT IF WE FAST FORWARD TO THE WEEKEND IT ACTUALLY LOOKS A LITTLE BRIGHTER AND A LITTLE WARMER. WE'RE GOING OUT
