Police report: Athens woman arrested on warrant after car chase

Former employee harasses Little Italy employees

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a harassment complaint in Little Italy in The Plains on Thursday.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant, who stated that a former employee had been harassing staff, according to the sheriff's office.

The former employee was charged with trespassing, the sheriff's office said.

Livestock break

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, officials in The Plains were alerted to a report of stray cattle near a road on Wednesday.

Officers arrived on Lemaster Road and found the cattle. After the cattle were returned to pasture, units resumed patrol, according to the sheriff's office.

Albany man arrested on warrants

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, officers arrested a man on valid warrants on Wednesday.

According to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, an Albany man was arrested on warrants for failure to appear in court, two counts of aggravated drug possession and criminal damage to property.

According to the sheriff's office, Casteel will remain in the regional jail until he posts bail or is released by the Athens County Court of Common Pleas.

Man arrested for violating protection order

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to Glouster on Tuesday in reference to a possible dispute.

Upon arrival at Republic Avenue, officers made contact with the individuals and learned that a protective order was in place, according to the sheriff's office.

The man who violated the order was arrested and taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, according to the sheriff's office.

Runaway on the road

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a call in The Plains on Monday about a runaway juvenile.

When they arrived at East Third Street, officers spoke with the parents. According to the sheriff's office, officers then found the juvenile on State Route 682 in The Plains.

According to the sheriff's office, the juvenile was taken to his residence and released to his parents.

Modified silencer or shots?

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, officers were patrolling The Plains area on Monday after gunshots were reported.

Officers concluded the noises came from a vehicle exhaust and not a weapon. According to the sheriff's office, officers followed the sound into the city of Athens.

Officers were unable to make contact with the vehicle and resumed patrol, according to the sheriff's office.

Glouster man arrested for domestic violence

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to an incident in Glouster on September 14 following a report of a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, units spoke with both parties. A Glouster man was arrested on domestic violence charges, according to the sheriff's office.

According to the sheriff's office, Hall was taken to the Southern Ohio Regional Jail without incident.

Athenian woman arrested after chase

According to the Athens County Sheriff's Office, officers arrested a woman on valid warrants following a chase on September 13.

An Athens woman was found driving a black Jeep Liberty on State Route 685. Before the woman was found, the Athens County Task Force obtained a search warrant for the Jeep as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in Athens County, according to the sheriff's office.

When officers signaled the woman to stop the vehicle, she did not stop and led officers down back roads at speeds of up to 70 miles per hour, according to the sheriff's office.

The woman continued driving to State Route 550, where she evaded an Athens City Police patrol car that was assisting in the pursuit. After going off course on Peach Ridge Road, the woman eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a telephone pole. Both the suspect and officers sustained injuries during the pursuit, according to the sheriff's office.

After the medical examination, the woman was arrested on a warrant and taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, according to information from the sheriff's office and jail inmates.
