Chennai News: Tamil film director Mohan G arrested for allegedly making derogatory remarks about ‘Prasadam’

News from Chennai: Tamil film director Mohan G was arrested by the Trichy district cybercrime police on Tuesday for allegedly making derogatory remarks about ‘Panchamirtham’ (Prasadam).

Varun Kumar, SP of Trichy district, said he was arrested in Chennai on Tuesday morning and was being brought to Trichy.

Ashvathaman Allimuthu, the BJP's Chennai president, claimed on X that the Tamil film director was arrested without any prior notice. His family was also not informed about why he was arrested, on what grounds and where he was being held, Allimuthu said.

Allimuthu also alleged that during the rule of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, there were numerous illegal arrests of dissidents in the DMK.

According to a report by Asianet News TamilMohan G. was instructed to mix contraceptives while shooting the video 'Palani Panchamirtam' and was arrested for it. Further details about his arrest are awaited, the report said.
