Jury deliberations continue in fatal drunk driving murder trial in Oxnard » News Talk 1590 KVTA

Update – Jury deliberations in the trial of a man accused of murder in a fatal drunken driving crash in Oxnard more than three and a half years ago are expected to resume Tuesday morning.

Both sides presented their closing arguments on Friday, and the jury began its deliberations, which continued throughout Monday before recessing for the day.

Authorities claim that in the early hours of the morning 27 January On February 21, 2021, 36-year-old Nathaniel Wills of Los Angeles was driving at 70 miles per hour while under the influence of alcohol when he crossed all lanes of Rose Avenue and then crashed into a tree stump south of Cesar Chavez Drive.

One of its passengers was ejected and killed.

Two other passengers suffered serious injuries.

Wills also suffered injuries and was in hospital for several weeks.

Wills has pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, negligent homicide, two counts of DUI and driving without a license.

Prosecutors claim Wills has been convicted of drunk driving four times.

Wills testified in his own defense at the trial.

Wills remains in the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $1 million.
