Man dies in ATV accident in Portage Borough

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees has confirmed that a man in his 50s died in an ATV accident in Portage Borough on Monday evening.

Emergency officials said several crews were dispatched to the scene of the accident along Sportsman Road shortly before 6 p.m.

Lees said the driver of the quad, whose identity has not yet been established, was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

According to investigators, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency officials in Cambria County said the coroner was called to the scene of a fatal off-road vehicle crash in Portage Monday evening.

According to 911, the accident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. in the 400 block of Sportsman Road in the Portage neighborhood.

Further details about the crash have not been released as authorities said several local fire and rescue teams were at the scene.

The state police are investigating the fatal accident.
