Police arrest Ithaca man for attempted burglary, lewd acts – Finger Lakes Daily News

Ithaca police believe they have arrested the man who allegedly committed lewd sexual acts outside the homes of two female students earlier this month.

Floyd Slater Junior, 32, was found at his home on Slaterville Road in the City of Ithaca. The search warrant was the result of an investigation by the Ithaca Police Department and New York State Police for attempted burglary, exposure of a person, menacing and creating a public nuisance. The attempted burglary and exposure of a person incident occurred on September 5th at the intersection of University Avenue and Delaware Avenue in the City of Ithaca.

Ithaca police arrested Slater and charged him with attempted burglary and exposure of a person. Slater, who was on probation in New York State, was arraigned and turned over to New York State Police, where he was charged with attempted sexual abuse, menacing and creating a public nuisance.

Slater was taken to Tompkins County CAP Court where he was arraigned and held without bail.

The Cornell University Police Department and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision assisted in this investigation.

Law enforcement believes that other victims may not have reported similar crimes committed against them. Anyone with additional information or who would like to report a crime should do so using the contact information provided below.
