Disney is having a rough morning – payment options issues affect Disney World AND Disneyland

This Monday is off to a rocky start for Disney as the website and apps are struggling with technical issues.

The payment processing system for both Disney World and Disneyland was down all morning.

UPDATE: As of 12:15 p.m. ET, Disney's systems appear to be back to normal. It's possible there will be some disruption once the issue is resolved, but members of the AllEars team were able to make table reservations and purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

Disney World and Disneyland websites and apps are currently experiencing technical issues with payment options. Guests are currently unable to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass, make dining reservations, or perform any other actions that require payment or card information.

Disney World has posted a notice on its website and when you open the app for the first time, you will also be informed of the technical issues. Currently, only Paypal seems to be available for certain actions.

While Disney is working hard to get these systems back online, this currently means guests cannot make their Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass selections in advance, nor can they make table reservations in advance, as these require a credit card.

The system has been down all morning, so we hope a fix will be available soon. We will continue to monitor the status of the website and the Disney World and Disneyland app. Guest Services is also unable to make Lightning Lane selections or table reservations for guests.

This technical issue not only affects guests who want to make reservations in advance, but also guests in the park. Guest Services confirmed that this issue affects virtually everything, including mobile ordering via the app.

Mobile ordering of Pecos invoices

At around 11am, the ability to start a mobile order or view the menus via mobile ordering was disabled. Menus for restaurants can still be viewed by navigating to the location in the app, but all mobile ordering features are currently unavailable.

But that's not all. It seems like almost all of Disney's systems are affected and even the Disney Store is unable to process credit card payments. Currently, you can only purchase items in the store if you use PayPal.

While it can be frustrating when Disney experiences technical difficulties, rest assured that the company will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
