Lottery ticket with $1 million winnings sold in North Carolina

A lottery winner in a North Carolina city beat the 1 in 11.6 million odds in Saturday night's Powerball drawing to win $1 million. The winner has 180 days to claim his prize.

GRANITE FALLS, NC — A lottery winner in a North Carolina city beat the 1 in 11.6 million odds of winning in Saturday night's Powerball drawing.

A winning ticket worth $1 million was sold for $2 at a store on Connelly Springs Road in Granite Falls.

According to lottery authorities, the probability of all five white balls having the same numbers is 1 in 11.6 million.

Another winning ticket, purchased at Harris Teeter on Horton Road in Durham, won a $100,000 prize in Saturday's drawing.

Both North Carolina winners have 180 days to claim their prize.

Monday's Powerball drawing has a jackpot of $208 million. The odds of winning are 1 in 292 million.
