Joseph Parker can't wait to fight Daniel Dubois but believes he can knock him out

Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker is “impatient” about a potential fight with current IBF ruler Daniel Dubois, and the New Zealander would knock Dubois out if the fight went ahead, Parker's promoter David Higgins told Sky Sports. Dubois, fresh off his stunning, shocking fifth-round knockout victory over Anthony Joshua (who beat Parker on points), wants to face the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk-Tyson Fury rematch, but Parker wants a piece of him, and pretty badly.

Higgins said his man would fight Dubois “anywhere, anytime.”

“Joseph would love to fight Daniel Dubois next, he can't wait,” Higgins said. “Joseph is willing to fight anyone, but if he had the opportunity to fight Daniel Dubois, he would grab it with both hands and be confident that he would win. I think besides Usyk-Fury II, Parker-Dubois – at heavyweight – will be the best fight against the best. Parker is on a roll and has surprised people, and I think the same could be said about Daniel Dubois. Styles make fights, and I think the fans would love to see Joseph Parker face Daniel Dubois… He's not afraid of Daniel Dubois. He would fight him anywhere, anytime, and he would be confident that he could beat and knock out Daniel Dubois.”

Because of his big win over AJ and because he holds a major title, a lot of other heavyweight challengers want a piece of Dubois right now. It really seems like Dubois has plenty of options for the future. Next up, though, could be a rematch with Joshua, as AJ has a rematch on his contract. The winner of the Usyk-Fury rematch may not fight for some time after December 21, so Dubois, who Higgins said may want to fight someone else in the meantime, will want to stay busy and fit. We don't know when Joshua will be able to fight again (many experts are advising AJ to take a good, long break after that tough, nasty KO loss), so who knows, maybe Parker will get what he wants and a chance against Dubois.

But if Dubois and Parker meet, who will win? Both men have good wins. Parker beat the rest of Deontay Wilder, Dubois beat Joshua. Could you call this a pick-em fight? As good as he's looked in his last three fights (stoppage wins over Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, Joshua), it's tough to go up against Dubois.
