Could it be 110 degrees in Phoenix this week?

PHOENIX (AZFamily) – Looks like September wants to be remembered!

Get ready for an early fall heat wave as we're declaring First Alert Weather Days for extreme heat Wednesday morning through Saturday evening.

The local national weather service has also issued a heat warning for this period. The warning is expected to be upgraded by Tuesday afternoon.

This warming is caused by a strong high pressure system that is causing temperatures in the most heat-sensitive areas to rise to 43 degrees Celsius or more.

Due to the dry air, clear and sunny skies are expected throughout the valley this week.

Morning temperatures in the valley are still above 20 degrees, but daily maximum temperatures are expected to be 8-10 degrees above average.

Records could be broken, as the last day with 43 degrees Celsius since 1896 was measured on September 19, 2010.
