Domestic violence incident leads to arrest – Peak of Ohio

Bellefontaine Police responded to a domestic violence call at a residence in the 500 block of Gunntown Road, resulting in the arrest of 23-year-old Stephen Stultz of Bellefontaine for domestic violence and probation violation.

Officers were dispatched after the victim reported that Stultz had pushed her and was verbally aggressive.

When officers arrived, they found the victim visibly disturbed and confirmed that she wanted to file a complaint against Stultz.

According to Stultz, the argument began when he asked the victim to use his address for an apartment application, which she refused.

He claimed this led to an argument in which he tried to stop the victim from screaming in front of a toddler who was present in the house.

The situation escalated when the victim expressed a desire to go outside and Stultz claimed she provoked him.

When asked, he insisted that there had been no physical contact between them.

After officers collected statements, they determined that Stultz was on probation.

After contacting his probation officer, he was provisionally arrested.

He was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail.
