Halle Berry reveals that Prince once asked her out on a date at his concert

Halle Berry was courted by Prince at one of his concerts.

The Never let go Actress, 58, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the September 23 episode, in which she recalled that the late “Purple Rain” superstar once asked her out on a date.

At one point in the interview, host Kimmel, 56, asked Berry: “Is it true that Michael Jackson asked Babyface to ask you out on a date with him?” After a pause, Berry said: “I don't know. But I know Prince asked me out on a date.”

The Oscar winner added that Prince asked him the question “more or less” personally.

“I was at one of his concerts here on Sunset Boulevard at the Key Club, and he had someone come out with a note. And as kids do, you say, 'Do you like me? Yes or no.' I said, 'Yes!' I mean, I'm at his concert, right? Yes! Then he came back out: 'Do you want to go out with me?'”

Berry said she didn't check any boxes this time. “No, I didn't send the paper back. I kept it.”

Prince died in 2016 at the age of 57. In 2011, Prince presented Berry with an award at the NAACP Image Awards.

Embracing Prince on stage as she accepted the award, Berry began her speech by saying, “It would be incredible to win an Image Award but have it presented to me by Prince. I've loved him my whole life, so thank you, Prince, for doing me the honor tonight…”

Berry told Andscape in 2017 that Prince was her very first concert experience as a child. “My first concert was Prince. This man, his music changed my childhood and my teenage years,” she told the outlet. “He helped me through a lot. I was a huge, admiring fan of his and became a friend of his during his lifetime.”

The actress is currently dating musician Van Hunt, whom she met through his brother. Berry recently spoke about their relationship Marie-Claire“It was the first time I was totally in love before having sex. That's never happened to me before. It was one of those life-changing, beautiful experiences. It was magical, just magical.”

Berry, who has been married three times, added of her relationship with Hunt, 54, “It took me a minute to really get it. But because of the way it happened, I firmly believe that this is it. This is my person.”
