Victims of Monday's crash identified | WSAU News/Talk 550 AM · 99.9 FM

TOWN OF SPENCER, WI (WSAU) – The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of Monday’s two-vehicle crash in the Town of Spencer.

According to investigators, Anthony Peplinski of Spencer died at the scene.

It is unclear whether the 27-year-old was a passenger or driver in one of the vehicles.

Officials have not yet released a report on what happened at the scene and it is unclear if anyone else was injured in the accident. Details such as speed or alcohol influence were also not released.

The incident occurred Monday morning near the intersection of Highway 13 and Merkel Road in the town of Spencer. Investigators spent much of the day reconstructing and investigating the accident. Traffic was diverted from Highway 13 for nearly eight hours.
