Man pleads guilty in Huntington murder case

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man pleaded guilty Tuesday to his role in a 2021 murder case.

Dakota Keaton pleaded guilty to two counts of murder in connection with a fatal shooting at a home in Guyandotte in May 2021.

Andrea L. Burnette, 35, of Huntington, and Terence Lamont Holmes, 48, of Cincinnati, died in this shooting in the 700 block of 5th Avenue.

The victims were found dead with gunshot wounds on May 10, 2021.

Another man, Marcellas Mitchell of Michigan, was also arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

According to investigators, witness testimony as well as digital and physical evidence suggest that Keaton conspired with Mitchell to commit the murder of Burnette and Holmes.

Sentencing for Keaton is scheduled for November 19.
