Amid the chaos and attempts to break up the fight, the suspect shot another man in the leg and arm as he tried to escape.

Police arrested two people after a fight and shooting broke out in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood as a mother tried to visit her daughter. Officers responded to a neighborhood near Northwest 50th Street and Lake Hefner Parkway on Friday after receiving reports of gunshots. According to a police report, the mother said she had permission to visit her daughter but got into an argument with an unknown man who was there. When others tried to intervene, the mother began hitting him in the head. Another man then went into the house to grab a gun, according to the police report. Amid the chaos and people trying to break up the fight, the suspect shot another man in the leg and arm as he tried to leave. Police said the gun was stolen. Both the mother and the shooter were arrested on charges of aggravated assault and possession of stolen property. Police arrested two people after a fight and shooting broke out in a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood where a mother was visiting her daughter.

On Friday, officers responded to a residential area near Northwest 50th Street and Lake Hefner Parkway after receiving reports of gunshots.

According to a police report, the mother said she had permission to visit her daughter but got into an argument with an unknown man who was there. When others tried to intervene, the mother began hitting him on the head.

Another man then went inside to get a gun, the police report says. Amid the chaos and people trying to break up the fight, the suspect shot another man in the leg and arm as he tried to flee.

Police said the weapon was stolen.

Both the mother and the shooter were arrested on charges of aggravated assault and possession of stolen goods.
