UPDATE: 4 people arrested in connection with fatal shooting in Thomson | Home

MCDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga. (WFXG) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office have arrested four people in connection with the shooting death of Calvin Hart Jr. in Thomson.

Antavious Griffin, 20; Tyreon Mew, 18; Jatavious Griffin, 18; and Tony Griffin, 19, all of Thomson, were arrested.

According to the GBI, Antavious Griffin was charged on September 17 with aggravated assault, premeditated murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony. Antavious Griffin was arrested after a chase in Thomson. Thomson police and the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office have filed additional charges against Antavious Griffin in connection with the chase.

Mew was a passenger in the car. Mew was arrested and charged by the Thomson Police Department and the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office.

Jatavious Griffin and Tony Griffin were charged with illegal possession of firearms and weapons, respectively, and participation in criminal street gang activities.

All four men are being held in the McDuffie County Jail.

According to the GBI, the McDuffie County Sheriff's Office was called to a home on Royal Street at 5:15 a.m. on Friday, September 13th, for a shooting. Inside the home, officers found Hart suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
