Wojciech Szczęsny joins the list of goalkeepers linked with Barcelona following the injury of Marc-André ter Stegen

Wojciech Szczęsny is the latest goalkeeper to be linked with a move to Barcelona following Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s knee injury.

The German is expected to miss most of the season after undergoing kneecap surgery. Barca are now considering bringing in a replacement.

Media in Poland report that Szczesny is ready to come out of retirement and help Barcelona in their hour of need.

Despite offers from Saudi Arabia, Szczesny ended his football career in the summer at the age of 34 to spend more time with his family. However, he is reportedly ready to accept an offer from Barcelona should one come his way.

The goalkeeper is close to his national team colleague Robert Lewandowski, which could also lead him to move to Barcelona if the Catalans decide to make a move.

The rumour mill is currently spewing out a lot of names as possible successors to Ter Stegen. Claudio Bravo is also being linked with a move to the club, even though he ended his career in the summer.

Other players recently mentioned include Alvaro Valles, Stole Dimitrievski, Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes and Werder Bremen substitute Mio Backhaus.
