Sheriff's report: Man arrested after pulling knife in road rage incident

A man is said to have pulled out a knife during an argument following a minor car accident in Weber Canyon.

Summit County Sheriff's officers were dispatched to the area for an industrial accident. According to a shift report, officers found the suspect after he left the scene.

Officers investigated the incident and arrested a man on suspicion of threatening to use a dangerous weapon during a fight.

The Sheriff's Office responded to several other calls between Monday, September 16, and Sunday, September 22, including reports of driving under the influence, warrants, and a previous assault.

Sunday, September 22

Officers were called to a car crash near Pinebrook. They made contact with the driver, who was showing obvious signs of impairment. Officers noticed the smell of alcohol and burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The man performed poorly on a standardized sobriety test. Officers arrested him on suspicion of DUI and searched the car. They found marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The man required medical attention. He was released with a charge of DUI, marijuana possession and other traffic offenses.

A man at Park City Hospital claimed he was attacked about two days ago. He suffered multiple abrasions and a skull fracture, but he could not remember anything about the incident. There are no suspects.

Officers located a woman who had multiple warrants out for her arrest. She was arrested and taken to the Summit County Jail without incident.

Thursday, September 19

A vehicle was stopped on SR 224 near Old Ranch Road for an equipment violation. A records check revealed the driver had a warrant for theft. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

A check of the vehicle records near Bear Hollow revealed that the vehicle was uninsured and the driver did not have a valid driver's license. The vehicle was searched and the car impounded. The driver was issued a citation.

Wednesday, September 18

A traffic stop was conducted near Echo Reservoir in Oakley. Officers noticed a vehicle not maintaining its lane and initiated a DUI investigation. Officers ultimately arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI.

Tuesday, September 17

Officers were dispatched to the Canyons Village area after a dump truck allegedly ran over a man's arm. Officers arrived and provided the man with emergency medical attention. EMS personnel arrived and transported the man to a hospital.

Monday, September 16

Summit County Search and Rescue was requested to assist with a medical emergency near Mirror Lake. Rescue crews were dispatched and rescue crews located the individual. A rescue helicopter transported the individual to a nearby hospital.
