Man arrested and accused of shooting his cousin

A man was arrested in Jefferson County in connection with a shooting that left his cousin injured.

Officers responded to the McNair community around 7 a.m. Tuesday where a man had been shot. When officers arrived, they found 20-year-old LaJhavian Clark, who had been shot once in the upper body.

According to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, Clark's cousin, 26-year-old Ezekial King, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. King is in jail awaiting his first court date.

Investigators have not said what led to the shooting.
